Origin
"Le Rami" is aluxury residence built in 1998 by "Pierre
et Vacances".
All private owners who bought the apartments had to let their management
to this organization for twelve years. At the end of this period,
some renewed a lease agreement with Pierre et Vacances, others wanted
to personally keep the apartment for themselves or they rent it
directly.
We chose the latter option when our lease expired in late 2009.
The villages of Montchavin and Les Coches
In the heart of the Tarentaise valley, Montchavin is a very old
Savoyard village, with its typical wooden chalets and even its
farm in the middle of the village.
The village of Les Coches, at 1450m, is more recent and focusing
on leisure for both winter and summer.
Moderate altitude enables it to retain a significant vegetation,
mostly coniferous. In winter, the last descent of the day through
the paths lined with pines ensures a desire to return.
In summer; the walks are shaded and pastoral.
The architecture has been strictly defined, perhaps in reaction
to the concrete towers of high-altitude resorts: the buildings
must not exceed four floors, the facades are of wood or stone,
with slate roofs, all of which gives a human dimension to the
village atmosphere.
Location of the residence
The residence is located in "La Foret" section of the
village of "Les Coches", in a quiet area, 400 metres
from the centre of the village, on a cul-de-sac with access to
the rink.
Located at the edge of the plateau, it uniquely overlooks the
Tarentaise valley and the mountains which surround it, with Mont
Blanc in the centre.
At the foot of the building, the "Montchavin" track
leading from the Vanoise Express (the cablecar linking La Plagne
- Les Arcs) to the village of Montchavin, 200 metres below. This
track is equipped with snow cannons allowing it to compensate
for the possible lack of snow at the end of the season.
